Ok, Gilmore Girl fans. Let’s have some real talk. Everyone has been bouncing off the walls since we heard rumors that a possible revival was a possibility— and reasonably so! GG was inarguably the best thing to happen in the early 2000s and Amy Sherman-Palladino is a national treasure.

Now our Gilmore Girls fantasies have become reality, but do we really trust Netflix with our precious revival?

Let’s take a look at the facts…

Exibit A: Arrested Development

The company’s first major revival, Arrested Development had been a cult favorite that was unfairly cut short after season three. That is, until Netflix decided to give it a second chance at life. Unfortunately so much of the cast had already departed in different directions – Jason Bateman was filming what would become the Horrible Bosses franchise; Will Arnett was busy being hilarious on 30 Rock; and Michael Cera was off playing the same nerdy but lovable character in Juno, Superbad and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Anyways, with everyone in so many different directions, they could barely get more than two actors in a scene at the same time. The result? A confusing and long-winded joke not worth watching past episode four. AKA a fail.

Another cult classic. Another Netflix flop. There was so much anticipation leading up to the mini-series and yet so little chatter once it was released. And now Netflix has announced a second season set 10 years in the future. Oh, Netflix! Won’t you ever learn.

Sometimes things that happen in the ’80s should stay in the ’80s. Enough said.

So, GG fans, I ask you, will Netflix take care of our baby the way it should? Yes, Amy Sherman-Palladino and hubby are on board and that’s a good sign. But can something so wonderful ever truly be recreated again?

And moreover, should Netflix be allowed to make money off of our nostalgia while ruining it on the process?
