Model Emily Ratajkowski first rose to fame during the “Blurred Lines” music video controversy (she was one of the naked models featured). And while she’s since used the fame to catapult both her modeling and acting career — she starred opposite Zac Efron in We Are Your Friends last year — she still thinks her sex appeal is standing in her way.
“If you’re a sexy actress it’s hard to get serious roles. You get offered the same thing that they’ve seen you in. People are like sheep and they’re like ‘Oh, that’s what she does well,'” she told Es magazine.
So does she regret her sexy modeling past, including that music video? Absolutely not.
“I have no apologies for it, and I’m not ashamed at all.”
But despite her criticisms, we think Emily has done pretty well for herself since “Blurred Lines.” In addition to her film with Zac Efron, she also acted in Gone Girl and the Entourage movie, and kept up her modeling.
So, is being too sexy holding Emily’s career back? She certainly seems to be dong ok but if she’s not getting offered the roles she wants, hopefully her growing acting experience will start speaking for itself.
