Things have officially gotten gross on the internet. And we’re not talking about those random, sleazy sites.

Waking up this morning, a headline by The Daily Mail immediately caught our eye: “Modern Family star Sarah Hyland oozes sex appeal as she displays her perky cleavage in a plunging black dress at Guys Choice Awards”

Seriously, Daily Mail? “Perky cleavage”? We’ve read headlines online describing how sexy girls looked on the red carpet and how fantastic they’ve looked, but calling out a 25-year-old’s “perky cleavage” just crosses the line into, well, pervy! When did language like this become ok on a major media site?

Although this headline was particularly disturbing, The Daily Mail isn’t the first major website to talk about young women in Hollywood this way. Other notable headlines recently include “Ariel Winter Still Pourin’ Out” by TMZ and “Kylie Jenner’s Underboob is Out of Control in This Jumpsuit.”

When did it become ok to talk about women’s bodies this way?

Just because someone chooses to dress a certain way or to flaunt their assets doesn’t make it ok for websites to call attention to it. There’s a difference between a headline that says “Kylie Jenner Flaunts Her Figure in This Jumpsuit” and a headline that says “Let’s All Look at 18-Year-Old Kylie Jenner’s Underboob in This Jumpsuit.”

What do you think? Do you think it’s acceptable to talk about women’s bodies this way?
