Amy Schumer is not your typical female comedian — we think she pretty much proved that off the bat. And now that she’s gracing the cover of Vogue, Amy is spilling the beans on how she achieved her own type of success.
“I am very into making up my own rules. Like, I don’t want to play the game and succeed at it. I want to redefine it. That’s the only way I can deal with it. Maybe that’s naive,” she said.
She also admitted that her brand of feminist jokes and her lack of fear for confrontation may have something to do with her success as well.
“I have this innate need to say things that I think are important for people to hear. And I can’t stand injustice, so even if it makes people uncomfortable, I’m not afraid enough of conflict to keep my mouth shut.”
Well, we’re glad Amy isn’t afraid of conflict because she is too awesome to stay quiet!
